We have worked with Kayleigh since early 2021, for Nationale Vacaturebank and Intermediair, which is part of DPG Media. In this interview, we dive into the collaboration between Kayleigh and Brandfirm strategist Franklin. Read how we moved forward together.

What problem did you want to solve by choosing Brandfirm?

Kayleigh: "We were looking for an agency that could support us with online campaigns to achieve our visibility and brand awareness goals. We were looking for a provider that offered multiple disciplines in-house. We went with Brandfirm because, besides your expertise, we wanted to take the plunge. You showed us passion, a proactive approach, mutual trust, commitment, and the ability to solve problems. We liked that."

How did we approach the problem, Franklin, what was the strategy?

Franklin: "We examined the issue first and looked at what opportunities there were. Lots of data were not being measured properly, which meant the results of the current marketing strategy were unknown. We solved that first, and from there, we went on to analyze the previous online marketing agency’s efforts. With that agency, the focus was mainly on brand awareness and very little on performance. So we took a completely different approach this time around. Budget-wise, we shifted everything to performance, because that’s exactly where our strengths are. We looked at it from a 'See, Think, Do' perspective and mapped out the target groups per phase."

Can you tell us about your experience with Brandfirm so far?

Kayleigh: "Right from the start we got some great advice from you guys. You immediately looked at the quick wins and that pragmatic, problem-solving thinking appealed to me right away.

Of course, you never know what to expect from a collaboration, but the longer we work together, the more you truly feel like an extension of my team. We communicate easily and openly and have short communication lines. There’s also room to give feedback on both sides. Open communication means that we work well together."

And Franklin, what’s your experience?

Franklin: "I can relate to what Kayleigh is saying. I also really appreciate the fact that we’re able to switch gears quickly. Kayleigh is on top of things and that means we can deliver results quickly. In the beginning, we had to problem-solve a lot and Kayleigh regularly joined us at the office. We would start the day with a workout class at our office and during the day Kayleigh would schedule meetings with specialists from our project team to tackle different issues. Now she’s no longer in the office as often as she was back then, but we always invite her to after-work drinks or fun parties.

Apart from having fun, I also notice that we’re working towards the same goal. We look at how we can take our results to the next level together. Is it not having the effect we want? Then we look for solutions together and are not afraid to speak our minds. We look at the roadmap at hand, and even though we test a great deal, we also keep each other on track to make decisions."

Kayleigh: "Exactly! There’s always room for improvement, but the intention is: how can we move things forward? We learn from our mistakes and dive into the next optimization round."

What do you think sets us apart?

Kayleigh: "We have the same goal in mind, and you feel like an extension of my team. We can shift gears quickly and communication is easy. What I appreciate is that you’re not afraid to experiment (in big and small ways), and don’t hesitate to make decisions. You think boldly. The intention is always: we meet targets together and then move forward to the next thing.

We also have a great rapport with each other. As Franklin mentioned, for a while we did our weekly sports classes together on Tuesday mornings and I love coming into the office. I also always feel welcome at get-togethers, parties, etc. And that makes our partnership even stronger and more fun."
