When products are more complex and expensive, the buying process is often lengthier. In such circumstances, the first course of action at the ‘persuade’ phase was to generate leads. In the sell phase, leads are converted into paying customers. If your products are cheaper and simpler, the persuade phase moves on to sales more quickly.
